Serving Butler County
Landscaping and hardscaping in Butler County
Butler County is where the business is registered, where the yard is, and where most of our work happens. Our base is on Kingston Avenue in Cranberry Township, and crews are out across the county six days a week from the first spring clean-up through to the end of leaf season, then back out through the winter on snow contracts.
The county is really two places. South of the growth line it is dense suburban development along the I-79 and PA-228 corridor, where lots are tight, houses are new and the ground was compacted flat by construction traffic before anyone spread topsoil on it. North of there it opens into farmland, woodland and large rural properties where the problems are drainage coming off neighbouring ground, long stone driveways, and acreage that is too big for sod to make financial sense.
That split decides the work. In the south we are usually correcting what was left behind: decompaction, grading, a drainage fix, then a patio or a lawn worth having. Further north it is hydroseeding across open ground, stone work on driveways and access, and structures built far enough from the house that lighting stops being decorative and starts being how people find the door.
Snow is its own business through the winter. The northern half of the county reliably takes more than Cranberry does, which changes how contracts are priced and how early they need to be agreed. Commercial plowing, salting and sidewalk clearing run on seasonal agreements set before the first storm.
Being based in the county rather than driving up into it matters. It means a same-week site visit, a crew that can come back the next morning when weather moves a schedule, and no travel premium on anything quoted inside the county line.

On the ground
What Butler County ground asks for
-
Two counties in one
A dense growth corridor in the south, open rural ground in the north, needing different work
-
Glacial clay
Holds water across most of the county, so drainage is costed before planting
-
Heavy snow load
The north of the county takes noticeably more than Cranberry does
-
Long rural driveways
Stone that needs regrading and drainage crossings that need sizing
-
Rapid southern growth
Subdivision lots built on subgrade that heavy plant compacted for months
Landscaping
Landscape design across
Butler County properties
A quarter-acre subdivision lot in Cranberry and a three-acre property outside Prospect are not the same job scaled up and down. The first needs every square foot to earn its place; the second needs structure so the whole thing does not become mowing.
We plan in zones either way, with planting chosen for the shade, the slope and the deer pressure on that particular property.
- Concept plan and 3D rendering before anything is dug
- Planting picked for Western PA winters, not a catalogue
- Phasing available so a large property can be built over two seasons
Hardscaping
Paver patios and retaining
walls built for this clay
Butler County clay holds water, and ground that holds water moves when it freezes. That is why the part of a patio nobody sees is the part worth paying for.
Compacted aggregate base, drainage behind every wall, footings below the frost line. It is the difference between a patio that still sits flat after ten winters and one that does not.
- Open-graded base compacted in lifts
- Drainage stone and fabric behind every retaining wall
- Footings below the local frost line
Lights Installation
Landscape lighting from
Cranberry to the county line
On a suburban lot lighting is about the facade and the patio. On a rural property it is about getting people from the car to the door without a torch.
Low-voltage throughout, cable buried rather than pinned along a bed edge, and the transformer sized with headroom for the phase you have not built yet.
- Cable buried, not surface-pinned
- Transformer sized for a later extension
- Solid brass fixtures that survive road salt and frost
SOD Installation
Sod, seed and hydroseeding
across the county
Sod for an instant finish and for holding a slope. Hydroseeding once the open ground gets past a few thousand square feet, where it covers far more per dollar.
Both need the same thing first: decompaction, grading and amended soil. Turf laid straight onto builder’s clay fails on schedule.
- Decompaction and grading before anything green goes down
- Hydroseeding for large open areas
- Watering schedule and first-mow date in writing
Snow & Ice Removal
Commercial snow and ice
across Butler County
Seasonal contracts for offices, retail sites, HOAs and industrial lots, with 24-hour call-out through the season. The northern half of the county takes more snow than the south, and contracts are priced accordingly.
- Contracts agreed before the season starts
- 24-hour call-out once it does
- Lots, access roads and sidewalks, not just the main run

Testimonials
What our Butler County clients say
Good to know
Questions we get from Butler County
Do you cover the whole county?
Yes, from Cranberry up to the northern townships. Nothing inside the county line carries a travel charge.
Where are you actually based?
Kingston Avenue in Cranberry Township, which puts most of the county inside a forty-minute drive.
Do you take commercial work?
Yes. Grounds maintenance and snow contracts for offices, retail, HOAs and industrial sites.
How far ahead should I book?
Spring and autumn fill first. Drainage and hardscape work we can usually start sooner.
Is snow priced differently in the north of the county?
Yes, because it reliably takes more. The quote reflects the site, not a county-wide rate.
