Drainage And French Drains Installation

French drains, dry creek beds and regrading that move water away from your foundation.

The work

What this covers

Standing water against a house is the expensive kind of problem — it finds the basement eventually. We work out where the water is actually coming from before digging anything, because a French drain in the wrong place just moves a puddle three feet sideways.

Depending on the cause that means regrading the surface, a proper perforated pipe in washed stone wrapped in filter fabric, a dry creek bed where you want it visible, or tying downspouts into a solid line that discharges somewhere sensible.

  • Cause diagnosis Where the water comes from, established before we dig
  • French drains Perforated pipe in washed stone, wrapped in filter fabric
  • Regrading Surface falls corrected away from the foundation
  • Downspout tie-ins Roof water piped away instead of dumped at the wall

Why us

What you actually get for the money

Every quote covers the same standards, whichever service you are booking.

  • A fixed price

Quoted against a drawing or a measured scope, not an hourly estimate that drifts.

  • Licensed and insured

Certificates go out with the proposal without being asked for.

  • Built to depth

Bases excavated and compacted in layers — the part nobody sees and everything depends on.

  • Our own crew

No subcontracting the parts that matter, so there is nobody to pass blame to.

  • A real schedule

Start and finish dates in writing, and a call if either moves.

  • Site left clean

Swept, tools away and debris gone at the end of every working day.

Our guarantee

If it moves, we come back

Everything we build carries a two-year workmanship guarantee on top of whatever the material manufacturer offers. That is not a marketing line — it is why we spend the money on base depth and drainage that a cheaper quote skips.

The crew that built it is the crew that comes back. There is no warranty department to argue with.

  • Two-year workmanship guarantee in writing
  • Material warranties registered in your name
  • The original crew handles any callback
  • No charge for anything that is our workmanship

Good to know

Common questions

Why did my last drain stop working?

Almost always no filter fabric. Silt fills the stone and it blinds off.

Where does the water go?

To daylight on a lower part of the lot, or a dry well when there is no fall.

Will it fix a wet basement?

It fixes the outside causes. Interior water needs a waterproofing contractor too.

How deep does the pipe go?

Typically 18 to 24 inches, deeper if it has to pick up footing drains.

Can you tie in my downspouts?

Yes, into solid pipe rather than the perforated run.

How disruptive is it?

Trenching is messy for a few days. We reinstate turf as we go.

Do you need a permit?

Sometimes, where discharge crosses a boundary or into a public system.

Will it work in clay?

Yes, but clay needs a longer run and a properly sized stone envelope.

What is a dry creek bed?

A drainage channel finished in cobble so it reads as a garden feature.

How long does it last?

Decades, if it was wrapped in fabric properly at the start.
